Live Nation’s Swedish Marketing Director joins startup Society icon

for international expansion

A few weeks ago, Swedish tech company Society icon closed an investment round in order to scale up, and the company was valued at 81 million SEK. Society icon now announces its first key recruitment - Live Nation's Swedish Marketing and Communications Director Kristofer Åkesson.

Kristofer leaves the concert and festival promoter after 9 years and joins as partner and COO for Society icon. In his new role Kristofer will lead the expansion journey the company is facing, both inside and outside the Nordics. 

Society icon was born from the idea that the individual will be at the center of future marketing. Society icon’s marketplace and innovative AI technology allow brands and companies to easily and transparently connect with their fans and customers - or as we call them, icons - and let them do marketing for them in their own channels, and at the same time enable people to work with their favourite brands.

Kristofer is a part of Live Nation Sweden’s management group and has played a key role for many years at the company who is responsible for over 2000 shows each year in Sweden only. This year he has launched and been a part of producing success events, such as Swedish House Mafia’s three comeback shows in Stockholm and the first year of the festival Lollapalooza Stockholm.

Throughout the years at Live Nation I’ve met many companies that offered different solutions for influencer marketing, but never found a good and efficient alternative. When Mose (CEO and founder Society icon) presented Society icon 1.5 years ago, I immediately saw that the unique idea and technology behind it, where the ordinary man and its followers are central, not only is the future of influencer marketing, but ultimately also for marketing and consumer loyalty in general”, says Kristofer Åkesson.

Traditional influencer marketing becomes less cost and time efficient each day, while consumer loyalty and clients engagement are more important than ever. That’s where Society icon’s platform fulfills an important function for the company's clients today.

Some examples of existing clients are H&M, Aller Media, Warner Music and Live Nation.
